task 10

TASK 10

The video explains each renewable energy.
  • Solar energy: Explain how the panels and the solar cells works.
  • Wind energy:  Teaches windmills and how they are made inside.
  • Hydro energy: They need a very high potential and explain how work the hydroelectric power sources dams.
  • Geo-thermal energy: Explain to hydrothermal systems.
  • Tidal energy: the video explain it is the power achieved by capturing energy contained in moving mass due two tidies.
  • Wave enregy: It is energy of ocean surface waves and capturing it to get useful work.
  • Biomass energy: biomass includes biodegradable waste that can be burnt as fuel.

CHECK

  1. Is all the writing IN ENGLISH? Yes
  2. Blog name: Elscamels12345
  3. Group name and members  and how you organized: Els Camels,  Chayma, Enric, Helena, Mohamed and Paula, We've divided the work
  4. Gadgets - Which ones? Fish, classic clock, Total pageviews and sleek calendar
  5. Who do you follow?2A-Biomass Energy,2A-Geothermal Energy,2A-Solar Energy,2A-Water Energy,2A-Wind Energy,2B-Biomass Energy,2B-Geothermal Energy,2B-Solar Energy,2B-Water Energy,2B-Wind Energy,2C-Biomass Energy,2C-Solar Energy,2C-Water Energy,2C-Wind Energy,2D-Wind energy
  6. Who are your followers? At the moment, we only have a follower, and this folower is Elscamels12345, ourselves.
  7. Difference between renewable energies and non-renewable: Renewable energy not end and non-renewable energy produces pollution and when it ends it's difficult to get more.
  8. Why do we have to use renewable energies? It doesn't pollute environment because comes from natural energy sources.
  9. Written information about your energy source: Tidal energy is a renewable energy that use the tides to produce electricity.
  10. Games about reweable energies or you energy source: http://www.energy.technomuses.ca/english/games.html
  11. Quizzes: We do the quizzes.
  12. Photos or pictures: It is in a post.
  13. Videos : It is in a post
  14. Important recent news IN YOU AREA (not in the world): In Catalonia, we didn't use this energy because there isn't too much movement of tides.
  15. Some advice. What can we do to help our planet: We should use more renewable energy than non-renewable energy. We shouldn't waste energy. We should recycle materials. We mustn't throw rubbish on the floor.
  16. Your powerpoint or Prezi:http://prezi.com/5-gysttu8pli/present/?auth_key=6vk60i7&follow=brqoo6wdk5op&kw=present-5-gysttu8pli&rc=ref-36596273

WHAT IS ENERGY

The power that makes things work.

Types of Energy

Energy can be said to be moving (Kinetic energy) or stored (Potential  energy). Something which is moving like a car is using kinetic energy,  something which stores energy like a battery has potential energy.

There are differents types of renewable energy and nonrenewable:

Renewable:

  • Wind power
  • Water power
  • Solar power
  • Geothermal power

Nonrenewable:
  • Coal
  • Oil
  • Gas
  • Peat

Photos of tidal powers

These are the parts of the dam.

This is a dam. In this moment, the water is passing through the turbines and they are generating electricity.

This is a turbine.

TIDAL ENERGY

This kind of energy uses the tides to produce electricity.
The ideal location for install a tidal power is in a gulf where there is much difference between high tide and low tide. Then, at the top of the entrance, they put a dam. In this dam there is a turbine.

The process for get electricity:

1. When the tide rises, the dam gates are open and the water goes down the reservoir.
2. When the water reaches full, the dam gates close.
3. At low tide, the water outside the reservoir goes down.
4. When the water gets to the bottom of the sea, the dam gates open again and then the water inside the reservoir passes through the turbines. The water moves the turbines and they generate electricity.

Here we put some links for watch videos about tidal energy:
