TIDAL ENERGY
This kind of energy uses the tides to
produce electricity.
The ideal location for install a tidal
power is in a gulf where there is much difference between high tide and low
tide. Then, at the top of the entrance, they put a dam. In this dam there is a
turbine.
The process
for get electricity:
1. When the tide rises, the dam gates are
open and the water goes down the reservoir.
2. When the water reaches full, the dam
gates close.
3. At low tide, the water outside the
reservoir goes down.
4. When the water gets to the bottom of
the sea, the dam gates open again and then the water inside the reservoir
passes through the turbines. The water moves the turbines and they generate
electricity.
